Praying white kitten"Please God, send me someone who will love me, protect me, & take good care of me fur-ever & ever.  Then life will be purr-fect! -- Amen"

We, at TigeraCat Rescues, believe that finding the right fur-ever home for each of these very special cats is a huge responsibility.  So, we've made it one of our top priorities!

AND...Because we want you to be happy with your adoption, no animal will be released to its new home until its vet says it's safe for both the animal and your family.  And we'll fax the animal's health records directly to your vet upon adoption finalization.

All cats & kittens adopted from TCR are:

  • Fully examined & treated by a licensed veterinarian.
  • FeLV/FIV/Heartworm tested (or status is known via testing of queen)
  • Spayed/Neutered (age appropriate)
  • Vaccinated for Rabies (age appropriate)
  • Vaccinated with a Distemper Combo Vaccine (age appropriate)
  • Treated for parasites (fleas, ticks, mites, etc.)
  • De-wormed (age appropriate)
  • Fed a regular, high-quality diet designed for their specific needs
  • Assessed for behavior & personality traits.

All cats & kittens adopted from TigeraCat Rescues come with:

  • 30-days of FREE ShelterCare Pet Insurance
  • 24PetWatch Microchip ID
  • Free pre-adoption & post-adoption Veterinary Exams
  • Complete health history faxed directly to your vet!
  • Lots of Free Goodies including a Cat Care Guide, complete medical history, toys, and more!
A $50 spay/neuter deposit is required for all unaltered cats & kittens. -- Use our particiating veterinarians to spay/neuter your new kitten and your deposit will pay for it!  A savings of up to $250!  Get the details.
FREE Adoptions!

TigeraCat Rescues does not charge an adoption fee.  We do ask for a minimum donation of $65 to cover the spay/neuter and rabies vaccination.  (Iowa law requires all adopted animals be spayed/neutered & current on rabies vaccinations).  Additional donations are always welcome and very appreciated.

Donations are what makes it possible for us to offer assistance to our community and continue to Save Cats.

FAQs

Q: I want to adopt a rescued cat/kitten, but I want to know more about it before I apply.  What are the details?

A: Here are some answers.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact us and we'll be happy to help.

Q:  I'm interested in adopting but I haven't found or decided on which cat/kitten is right for me yet.  What should I do?

A:  Apply Now to get Pre-Approved!  Then when you see the cat/kitten you want you won't have to wait for your application to be processed!  You can always change your mind or adopt elsewhere.

TigeraCat Rescues' goal is to provide happy, permanent homes for each rescued animal.  Therefore we do not adopt animals on a first-come-first-serve basis.  All applications are given equal consideration, even if there are multiple applications for the same animal.  But, if you're pre-approved you have the best chance!

Q:  Is there anything I should know before I apply?

A:  Yes.  If any of the following apply to you, you will not be approved for adoption:

  • If you want to let your cat go outside unattended (does not apply to barn cats).
  • If you don't want to or can't afford to take an animal to the vet for annual vaccinations, injuries, illnesses, etc.  Be prepared.  Quality veterinary care is not "cheap"; a single injury or illness could cost as little as $50 or as much as $500 or more.
  • If you are a renter with a lease that does not allow pets. (Prior landlord approval is required for all renters; and property ownership is verified).
  • If you or any person in your household has a history of domestic, child, or animal abuse/neglect or conviction of a violent crime.
  • If you plan to declaw, TigeraCat Rescues has some restrictions.  (See our declaw page)
  • If you are looking for a "gift" for a household other than your own. (You may pay the adoption fee but, the recipient of such a "gift" must complete the application process him/herself.

Thank You and God Bless You for giving another of His precious creatures a second chance at a healthy life with a loving family.
