Step 2 - Review:   Applications are reviewed, references are checked, and adopter is contacted to set-up home visit.  This step can often take 2-5 days to complete.  To help the process go faster, let your references, landlord, & veterinarian know we will be contacting them.  If during this time you would like to view a potential pet, just let us know via email or telephone to make an appointment.

Step 3 - Home Visit/Review:  A TCR staff member will come to your home for a tour & to answer any questions you may have.  He/She may make recommendations of safety measures you can take to protect your precious, new family member, such as removing poisonous plants, sealing small holes, etc.  This is known as "cat-proofing".  Special provisions have been established for adoptive homes outside of our area.

Step 4 - Approval/Denial:   Once the home visit is completed your application and home-visit review are submitted to the adoption board for approval.  When a decision has been made, a TCR staff member will notify you by email or telephone.

Step 5 - Adoption Completion:  Adopter signs the "Adoption Contract", pays the adoption fee, and takes their new family member home with lots of goodies and lots of love!
