Assistance Programs

We all want to help save the animals!  Whether you want to help that friendly stray you found, spay/neuter a feral or barn cat, or find a new fur-ever home for your own beloved cat or kitten, the decisions of what to do and how to do it are often some of the toughest.   The "easy" solution is to take the cat/kitten to the humane society or call animal control.  But think first!  Over 80% of cats entering our animal control system, humane societies, animal shelters, and SPCAs are killed (aka euthanized).  Not just for medical reasons, but because there's not enough money, room, or time to find them all homes.  You don't want the animal killed, you're trying to save it, right?

TigeraCat Rescues is a small group of people who volunteer their time, skills, labor, and homes to SAVE CATS.   We're people just like you , who want to help the animals and do the best we can with what we have.  We wish our walls and pocket-books would magically expand to make room and create more money.   But since they don't, we've put together some No-Kill alternatives and located a variety of other services to help you keep or find a quality new home for that precious cat or kitten.  As more people like you join in the effort, more will be saved.

So let's get started SAVING CATS...ONE LIFE AT A TIME.

DO NOT PUT AN INDOOR CAT OUTDOORS AND EXPECT IT TO LIVE!

coppercat Cats that have been raised indoors do not have a "natural instinct" to hunt or find shelter.  These skills are learned through the teachings of their outdoor mothers and experience as kittens.  Indoor cats have NOT learned these skills.  When put outdoors to fend for themselves, most suffer long, slow, excruciatingly painful deaths due to illness & injury!

New-Home Placement

TigeraCat Rescues is not a shelter, you can't bring the animal to us

Here are some tips to help you in your endeavor to save that cat:

Finding a new, quality home:

If you've exhausted all your options and you absolutely cannot keep the cat:

  • See the Reference Library or Resources & Information for lots of problem-solving ideas.
  • Check our list of animal welfare organizations that may be able to help.
  • Take it to the humane society or call animal control.  Even though it will likely be euthanized, this is much more humane than putting it outdoors or taking it to a farm where it will become a meal for a coyote or other wild animal or end up suffering a long & painful death through starvation, illness, disease, or injury.

Micro-Chipping Only $20 For each chip purchased, TigeraCat will donate a chip to a rescued cat or dog to keep them safe too!  Contact us for an appointment.

Please consider a tax-deductible donation to TigeraCat.

Thank You and God Bless You for giving another of His precious creatures a second chance at life.
